Printing
Service Description
- Printing is available for all students, faculty, and staff at the University.
- Printers:
- 2 Lexmark T644s - standard laser (black/white), serve General Use Area
- 2 Lexmark T634s - standard laser (black/white), serve Instructional Labs
- 2 Lexmark C720s - color, serve entire ACF
- Duplex, or double-sided printing, is available on all printers (a two page document will print to the front and back of one peice of paper). Users will still be charged for two pages when using this option.
Charges
- Standard laser printing (black/white) is $0.05 per page. Color printing is $0.25 per page.
- Please note:
Because the university accounting system has a minimum charge that can be submitted, your first printout will result in a charge of this minimum amount (usually $5.00) against your student/Banner account. The difference between the printing charge and the amount charged against your account is then kept "On Account" -- your future printing charges are then debited against this credit. Once your balance is depleted past 0, another minimum charge will be levied against your account.
Your balance will carry over between semesters as long as you are a U of I student. We apologize in advance -- there can be no refunds of your unused balance. (Policy prevents us from dealing with cash transactions.)
Print Credits
- Print credits are available for jobs that do not release correctly. Credits may be awarded for the following reasons:
- Paper comes out wrinkled or ripped
- Paper has toner smears or roller marks
- Printing is light because toner is running out
- Pages that never printed
Credits will not be awarded for the following:
- A user prints a web page and gets "extra" pages (sometimes pages are wider than people realize so a 3 page document comes out as 6 pages)
- A user releases a job that he did not want
- The color on the paper is not the same as the screen; basically a color matching problem
- A job has failed twice, and the person tries a third time
- Please see an ACF lab attendant if you would like to request a print credit. Print credit requests that do not fall into one of the above categories will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
